This wall had served as an important aesthetic and practical feature on this home for many years, however over the years natural settling and weathering have cracked and eroded away certain areas of the mortar and damaged some of the bricks. Not only does this damage look unappealing, but if a tuckpointing procedure is not complete further cracks and holes will develop which will continue to damage this brick wall at an even faster pace. In order to perform our tuckpointing project in order to repair this brick wall we will first grind down all of the old, damaged mortar in order to apply new mortar in its place. To begin our tuckpointing process we will first secure the surrounding areas and set up scaffolding to safely access the areas that we need to work on. The first step in completing our tuckpointing work will be to grind away all of the loose mortar and debris along the damaged joint lines.
